An insurance sales job is not about the product or the company.  It’s about YOU. Don’t get me wrong, you shouldn’t work with a lousy D rated company. 

The point is this.  Many insurance agents make the mistake of jumping ship their entire career in search of a “better contract,” “better product,” or “better company.” 

They don’t spend longer than a couple years with one organization because there’s always a new product for a lower price.  They fail to see the only thing that needs changing is right between their ears.

I bet you know people like this in California that think everything needs to change but them, right? Sure, we all know these people. It’s no different in the insurance sales industry.

Let’s suppose you could build a machine that earned you $250,000 per year but you had to stand next to it 12 hours per day and push the buttons.

Now let’s suppose you could build a machine that earned you $1,000,000 and you only had to check on it 1 hour per day to make sure the gears are working. 

Which one would you build?

We both know the answer yet most people continue to build the first one with little thought to their long term future.  When it comes to an insurance sales job you have a decision to make. 

Do you want to keep all your “eggs in the same basket” and depend on only 1 income source?  Or do you want to build multiple machines that run on autopilot without YOU having to lay a finger? 

If you depend on just 1 relationship in California for 100% of your income and your manager decides he doesn’t like you then you lose all your income.  And what if your company goes bankrupt?  Again, all your income slips down the drain.
